Maple’s Apothecary is an 2d indie animation project that is a passion of Brayden Huffer and Jason Markovich.

As Maple fails to produce a potion for her wealthiest client, she’s given an ultimatum that if failed, may doom the shop to bankruptcy. She, along with her friends, must go on a perilous journey to find the missing ingredient.

The main characters are as follows:

Maple: This young elf is the owner of her potion shop, and an excellent potion-maker! She is a multi-talented black woman and excels at healing and potion making, as well as archery and basic elemental magic. She has a preference for plant magic, as she is naturally attuned to nature.

Genesis: This young woman is Maple and Sporelax’s best friend and an excellent swordswoman. She’s as fierce as she is majestic, and would do anything to help run the shop, even if it means putting herself in danger. She likes practicing fighting routines, and can be caught practicing with her sword when not working in the potion shop.

Sporelax: A teen mushroom, he’s the epitome of excitement and fun, and a practicing mage! Although quite puerile, he’s always helping around the shop and protects his friends in battle with his magic force-field.

The short will be targeted toward teens and adults who loves a bit of fantasy and adventure! Whether you’re 16, 32, or even 64! Maple’s Apothecary will have stunning visuals and interesting story for everyone!

The length we are hoping for is 18-22 minutes, balancing concise storytelling with character development. This length suits episodic content, offering clear narratives and depth without losing audience interest.
